On August 25th, SlaughterhouseSpace and Duchamp Winery were thrilled to present a unique art and wine event:
Motherlode by world renowned artist Anya Gallacio.
Questioning how to create artwork in response to landscape, Gallaccio’s project was a unique attempt to
produce a picture of Sonoma County using only material from its fruit and soil. In collaboration with the
preeminent winemaker Zelma Long, Anya produced six Zinfandels, five charting the terroir of appellations
stretching the breadth of the County and the sixth creating a complete portrait of the region.
A unique experience of Sonoma’s essence was expressed through this complex and vibrant work of art.
The artist and winemaker were in attendance and curator Lee Plested  presented a talk
about the historical context, development, and realization of this conceptual project.
The event was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sample flights of their six wines
paired with tastes of locally produced cuisine by Tara Wachtel of Zazu Restaurant.

ENDGAME brings together a multigenerational group of artists who, like Beckett, employ a
stark formalism to reflect our contemporary world. Through their shared fatalism, the exhibition
strives to reveal a common humanitarianism, love in the dark.
